State of the Kitchen

I should mention that the kitchen is farther along then seen in these pictures, but thought I should post these anyhow. I mean how else will you fully appreciate the next post?

Anyhoo, after our "kitchen guy" turned out to be a horrific disappointment, we hired our handyman, Inmer, to finish our kitchen the right way. And we're thankful we did. A lot of things that had bothered me, like the clearance between the fridge doors and the counter, have been resolved.

Here, some shots to give you an idea of where we were:

The same angle, sort of, with the addition revamped cabinets. Here, Inmer is sanding down the opening for our kitchen sink in the brand new peninsula. The blue tape indicates where the required electrical outlet will be installed.

A long shot of the kitchen. Much better now than before!

View from the opposite side. You get a good idea of how it's going to look. Having had the stove "pulled out" in the kitchen for so long...

I'm surprised at how much bigger the kitchen feels with it tucked in the nook.

We did hit a snag with the faucet we had bought on Overstock.com. Though we loved it, it was not set up for a side spray, which is indispensable. We found a lovely faucet with a pullout sprayer in, of all places, Home Depot.

It's starting to look very, very good. Very good. About time.
